A chimera of jewelry and t-shirt, The Charm Tee is an ongoing series adorning carefully selected, thoroughly thrashed vintage t-shirts with natural stones, pearls, and crystals. Inspired by barnacles, lichens, all manner of natural growths, the beadwork blossoms and clusters over the material. The tears, marks, and holes are treated as fine lace, a couture object fashioned by time. Each shirt is hand embroidered with meticulous attention, intuition, and respect for the organic designs wrought by decay. Each piece takes dozens of hours to complete, the result being an object not only mended, but elevated. The quintessential ripped tee becomes jewelry, an oneiric expression of an everyday garment.
